"HaNaYa" refers to how my mom calls out to me in Korean.
It's not a nickname necessarily, but the 'Ya' attached to the end of my name reminds me of home and how I grew up. It's how I know someone familiar is calling for me, and my hope is for my work to convey that same sense of welcome and familiarity.
